Zoob Dude!

Have you ever seen these toys? They're called Zoob, and they're pretty cool. My in-laws gave them to David for his 4th birthday, and he loves creating things with them. He told me this one was a zoob dude eating popcorn.

Tag! You're It!

I have been tagged by my friend Beth of The Pink Tulip. Apparently, this is a common blog game, and here are the rules:

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

7 Weird/Random facts about me

1. At one time I was a semi-frequent guest on Mr. Knozit (a local children's tv show in Columbia, SC) where I demonstrated crafts for kids.

2. I ran my first marathon in San Antonio when I was 11 weeks pregnant with my first child.

3. When I was a teenager, I won 2nd place in a recipe contest in my local newspaper for shrimp crepes (which I have never made since).

4. I have had the nicknames Becky-home-ecky and Super Woman at different times in my life.

5. I was the pianist at my church when I was a teenager.

6. My favorite dessert is carrot cake with cream cheese & pecan frosting.

7. One of my husband's friends first told me I should try selling my baby bibs on ebay 3 years ago.

You're it....

Three (sad?) Amigos

No! I did not forget about my blog. I have just been very busy. Last week was spring break here. My sister & I and my 3 children drove 600 miles to visit my parents in Biloxi, MS. While we were there, we took the kids to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport. Now that place is a lot of fun -- and not just for kids. I know...it doesn't look like they're having fun. But they are. They were just irritated that they had to stop having fun so that mom could take a picture.

Easter Bunny

My friend Heather (Daisy-Head-Maisy) sent us this super cute carrot tutu to model. So, we went outside this afternoon and attempted to get some decent photos. Elizabeth was a willing model, especially since I promised her a Flavor-Ice after the photo shoot was over.

Dog onesies and burnt play dough

I know. I said I would never have a blog. Because I am too lazy, and I wouldn't know what to say. Now here I am at my computer, trying to type the first post for my blog. And guess what? I don't have anything to say.

While I was trying to finish up some orders this morning, I saw today's episode of Martha Stewart. She had Christy, from Bellablu Designs (and also an Austinite) on her show making her really cute dog applique onesies.

Have you ever smelled burnt play dough? Today I had the bright idea of making homemade play dough for the kids. I googled "play dough recipe" and came up with tons of them. This is the one I chose:

3 cups flour
3 cups water
1 1/2 cups salt
2 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon cream of tartar

Place all ingredients in a pan and cook and stir over medium heat until it sticks together.

If you ever decide to make it, don't place all ingredients in the pan, turn on the heat, and then go rummage around in your kitchen drawers for a spoon. Because that's all the time it takes for the ingredients to stick to the bottom of the pan and burn. I finally ended up with some acceptable play dough, and now the kids are making fossils with it.
